About Abilene Hockey

Our Story

Welcome to Abilene Hockey, a passionate and vibrant non-profit 501(c)(3) outdoor roller hockey league located in Abilene, Texas. We organize two official seasons each year—Fall and Spring—along with a variety of off-season activities designed to nurture a love for the sport among our members and introduce newcomers to the excitement of roller hockey. You can find us at Cal Young Park, situated off South 11th and T&P Lane in East Abilene.

How We Came to Be:

Founded in 2001 as the “Key City Hockey Association,” we rebranded to Abilene Hockey in 2019 to better engage with our community and drive growth. Since then, we've welcomed a growing number of players from Abilene and beyond, with some traveling over an hour to join us. We offer two youth age divisions and one adult division, with plans to expand. Our members range from complete beginners to those with amateur-level experience.

Our Goals:

At Abilene Hockey, our mission is to foster a deep-seated love for hockey in Abilene and its surrounding regions. We are committed to building strong relationships within the community and giving back to those who have supported us. Our league is dedicated not only to developing players' hockey skills but also to imparting valuable life lessons and skills that they can carry forward. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the sport, Abilene Hockey offers a welcoming environment to enjoy the game, grow as individuals, and become part of a thriving hockey community.
